 Volunteers are what make MPTV Friends value to the community unlimited! We understand that everyone has something unique to contribute, and we offer a variety of ways you can assist. Experience is not necessary to volunteer, just enthusiasm and commitment. We will provide training in exchange for your time and commitment. Volunteering your time is a great way to meet new people, gain valuable job experience and have some community spirited fun! Here are just a few ways you can volunteer at MPTV Friends:

Antique Appraisal Fair Saturday, October 18, 2008
Located at the Auction Facility, Volunteers are needed in customer relations in the outlet shop and concession stand, as directors in both the waiting area and appraisal area, as hostess over the lunch hour for appraisers and volunteers. Lunch and 2 free appraisals will be provided. Shift time: 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 11:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mail Crew Located at the Friends Offices at MATC downtown (parking provided) Tuesday, October 14th Wednesday, October 15th Tuesday, October 28th Wednesday, October 29th
November 2008 Saturday and Sunday, November 15-16, 2008 Located at the
Auction Facility in Groups or individual
volunteers are needed to answer incoming calls from viewers, work in
monitoring the boards, assist in table staging and warehouse.
There will be one shift per day 4:30 - 9:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, November 17-18, 2008 Located at the
Auction Facility in Volunteers are needed to assist with packing and labeling the merchandise and certificates purchased during the holiday auction. The shift times are from 9:00 - 5:00 both days. MPTV Saturday and Sunday, November 22-23, 2008 Located at the
Auction Facility in
Volunteers are needed in customer relations in the
outlet shop and concession stand, as cashiers and baggers.
Volunteers will receive a 10% discount on merchandise purchased
and a free lunch. Parking is located at the auction

26th January, 2009 January 16-25, 2009. Volunteers are needed to staff a booth, sell raffle tickets and supply general information about MPTV Programming, Volunteering opportunities and The Friends.
The shifts are as

Mail Crew - downtown - The Mail Crew volunteers at MATC downtown, at the MPTV Friends Office. Parking provided no handicap parking available. The Mail Crew has the following schedule during January :
February 2009 Auction Volunteer Open House - Auction Facility, New and existing volunteers are welcome to join us on a visit at the auction site on Saturday, February 7 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to assist in the outlet shop, setup and serve snacks and beverages and serve as greeters. February 19 - 22, 2009. Volunteers are needed to staff a booth, sell raffle tickets and supply general information about MPTV Programming, Volunteering opportunities and The Friends.

Volunteer opportunities Viewer Service Desk and Tour Guides Located at MATC downtown, at the MPTV. Parking
provided no handicap parking available. The viewers service desk volunteers come in
mornings or afternoons on weekdays. A schedule and training is provided by the
viewer services department at MPTV. For more information, call volunteer
services or email your request. Tour Guides are scheduled as need through the
viewer services department at MPTV. For more information, call volunteer
services or email your request. Office Assistant Located at MATC downtown, at the MPTV Friends
Office. Parking provided no handicap parking available. This is a newly created volunteer position. The
volunteer director will schedule these volunteers as needed once to twice a
week. Volunteer responsibilities include, a basic understanding on MS Office
Suite, Word, Excel, Access and Power Point, clear communication and good
telephone etiquette, envelope stuffing and assisting as desired at auction,
special events, and on-air membership drives. Flexible daytime hours between 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursdays. A schedule may be established if desired by the volunteer and training will be provided as needed by the Volunteer Director. For more information, call volunteer services or email your request.
